Pluto - Information on Pluto

The former 9th planet from the sun, Pluto was declared a dwarf plane by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) at the 26th General Assembly in August of 2006.
New Mexico Declares Pluto a Planet
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that, as Pluto passes overhead through New Mexico's excellent night skies, it be declared a planet and that March 13, 2007 be declared "Pluto Planet Day" at the legislature.
Word of the Year; "Plutoed"
In its 17th annual Words of the Year vote, the American Dialect Society voted "plutoed" as the word of the year. To pluto is to demote or devalue someone or something, as happened to the former planet Pluto when the General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union decided Pluto no longer met its definition of a planet.
Is Pluto a Planet?
For a number of years, there has been a debate as to whether Pluto was a planet or not. The problem has been with the definition of a planet or lack thereof. Finally, the international Astronomical Union has given us the answer.
