PERSONAL DATA: Born April 11, 1941, in Long Beach, California. His parents were the late Captain and Mrs. Philip F. Hauck. During his spare time, he enjoys skiing, sailing, kayaking, tennis, and working on his 1958 Corvette. Rick is married to Susan Cameron Bruce. Together they have five children and six grandchildren.

EDUCATION: Graduated from St. Albans School in Washington, D.C. in 1958; received a bachelor of science degree in Physics from Tufts University in 1962 and a master of science degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1966; graduate, U.S. Naval Test Pilot School, 1971.
