NASA Administrator To Make Space Station Research Announcement

During a visit to NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston on Monday, Sept.16, NASA Administrator Sean O'Keefe will speak with Expedition 5 crewmember Dr. Peggy Whitson aboard the International Space Station (ISS). During the conversation O'Keefe will make an announcement regarding future ISS research activities.

The conversation between O'Keefe and Whitson will be carried live on NASA Television with coverage and commentary beginning at 2:45 p.m. EDT.

The ISS Expedition 5 crew is comprised of Russian cosmonauts Commander Valery Korzun and Flight Engineer Sergei Treschev in addition to NASA Astronaut Whitson. The Expedition 5 crew has been aboard the orbiting outpost since June 2002 conducting a number of research and logistical activities.

NASA TV is broadcast on the GE2 satellite, Transponder 9C, at 85 degrees West longitude, frequency 3880.0 MHz, audio 6.8 MHz.
