The following is a preview of exhibits:Adventures in Flight gallery: The new Adventures in Flight gallery takes visitors on an aviation adventure when they wing walk on a Jenny bi-plane, see a replica 1903 Wright Flyer, explore a DC-9 passenger jet, ride in a WWII bomber, become an air traffic controller, sit in the cockpit of an F/A-22 fighter jet, pilot an airplane, & more!

Visions of Mars:
Have a close encounter with a meteorite from Mars, explore the possibility of life on Mars and see memorabilia from the 1950s and 1960s. This exhibit explores mankind's relationship with Mars from ancient mythology to current exploration highlighting the Viking landings and Mars Pathfinder landing.Moon Rock:
Marvel at a three-billion-year-old moon rock. This moon rock, a piece of the Goodwill rock, was acquired on the Apollo 17 mission in 1972, and helped scientists learn about the moon's geological makeup.Launch a Rocket: 5. . .4. . . 3. . .2. . .1. . .Launch a rocket to new heights with this interactive, hands-on exhibit and master the steps of mission control. See if you have what it takes to send a rocket to space.
Shuttle Landing Simulator:
Hop on board, assume the controls, and attempt to land a space shuttle. Discover how difficult it is to land a shuttle, and why astronauts must complete extensive training to learn how to execute a perfect landing.Directions & Maps:

There is always something new landing at the Virginia Air & Space Center! Experience a 3D IMAX film in the giant-screen Riverside IMAX Theater...you have to see it to believe it! Or explore the wonderful world of science with one of our blockbuster changing exhibits! Dont forget to top of your visit with a spin on the Hampton Carousel, a restored, turn-of-the-century carousel adjacent to the Virginia Air & Space Center.
Hours & Admission
The Virginia Air & Space Center is open every day except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. The Riverside 3D IMAX® Theater at the Virginia Air & Space Center is open every day with a limited evening schedule on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
There are two schedules for operating hours:
