Caroline Lucretia Herschel (Grades 9-12)
(Grades 9-12) Caroline Lucretia Herschel - First Lady of Astronomy. Caroline Lucretia Herschel was born on March 16, 1750 in Hannover, Germany. She was the fifth of six children, including her brother, William. Scarred at the age of three by smallpox, which disfigured her left eye and pock-marked her cheeks, her growth was stunted by typhus when she was ten.

(Kindergarten - 4th Grade) On January 27, 1967 the crew of Apollo 1 were sitting in their space capsule for training. Before takeoff, the rocket is placed at a site called a launch pad.
