The Universe is a mighty big place. So much so that, it is difficult to even get our heads around the scale of its size, and the infinitesimal nature of our existence in it.
To help visualize our cosmic neighborhood, the American Museum of Natural History and the Hayden Planetarium have been working to create a tour of the heavens.
The result of more than a decade of work, the video takes you from the peaks of the Himalayas to the edge of the observable universe and back.
Also, for those of you interested in such things, check out Carter Emmart, one of the principal minds behind the effort, giving a TED talk on this work and the motivation behind the project.

“check out Carter Emmart, one of the principle minds behind the effort”
It’s “principal” not “principle”.
