"What are the two stars so close to the moon lately?"

I have been asked this question by a number of people lately. It's a great question about a very impressive sight.

Actually, you can discover for yourself what you have seen in the night sky by using our simple sky map generator. (It's free.) Once you create your skymap, learn what you are looking at with the Sky Map Symbols Key.

If you don't care to go to that much trouble, you can click on the image above and use the Sky Map Symbols Key to discover that we have been treated lately with a great view of Venus and Jupiter accompanying the moon. They are quite bright and I've been seeing them during twilight long before the stars become visible.

Share with the rest of us what you have been viewing in the night sky.
