German Cottage Destroyed by Meteorite

ABC News is reporting a story from Reuters that a cottage fire on October 10 near Bonn that injured a 77-year-old man was probably caused by a meteorite. Witnesses reported seeing an arc of blazing light in the sky, according to German police.
A spokesman for the Siegburg police department, said the fire gutted the cottage and badly burned the man's hands and face. He also said they had consulted with the Bochum observatory, which noted that at that particular moment the earth was near a field of meteoroids.
