It seems the scaremongers are at it again (remember Eric Julien?)
Paul Sutherland, of Skymania News, says that a Russian astronomer, Nikolai Fedorovsky, claims to have spotted a comet in a telescope and calculated its flight path to impact Earth on October 28 of this year. Paul says, "He predicts that the impact will unleash devastating tsunamis, earthquakes and avalanches. Fedorovsky is quoted as saying: 'I’m not trying to scare anybody, I just want to warn the public. We should pay attention to this suspicious celestial body.'"
Quoting Dr David Asher, of Armagh Observatory, Northern Ireland, and other astronomers, Paul says there is no danger to Earth from a comet at this time. In fact, some Russian astronomers called Fedorovsky a publicity seeker.
