No Home Depot in Space
CNN, reporting on an upcoming spacewalk on the International Space Station, says that some of the tools needed for the work are missing. They quote Kirk Shireman, NASA's space station program deputy manager as saying, "By the way, you can't go to Home Depot. You have to have everything you need there, so we have filled up the space station."
Think "losing your car keys at home."
The spacewalk will proceed as planned, however. Russian commander Pavel Vinogradov and U.S. flight engineer Jeff Williams will simply improvise to replace the items which can not be found. What will be postponed, however, is a publicity stunt involving driving a golf ball from the International Space Station.
