In March, we continue to celebrate the contributions of women throughout history with Women's History Month. Here at About Astronomy and Space, we salute the many women who have been an integral part of the history of astronomy and space exploration. Today, we highlight Kalpana Chawla, a hero who lost her life aboard the space shuttle Columbia.

"hi, i have tried to communicate with nasa, european space agency, iki,the gaurdian, the bbc, and had absolutly no response, I hope I have more joy with you lot.
"at the age of 14 i invented a device that would enable us to travel at up to light speed so making space travel a realistic possibility. at the time i did not go public for fear that the millitary would hi-jack the project and want to arm the device , so i have not spoken about it to anybody till now, even now i dont belive mankind responsible enough to go space traveling, but i am getting old and i woul like to see my device at least recognised as a viable route to enable us to reach the stars, after all that i still need to know if i have the problem correctly understood, any body want to chat?" - Don't forget to check out our Gift Guide
