Shine On Harvest Moon

Monday September 8, 2003
Harvest Moon is an agricultural tradition, and the term relates to the full moon which falls closest to the Fall equinox (Spetember 23). It was especially important because it allowed farmers to work later into the evening, under the moon's light, during their busy harvest season. The harvest moon can land anywhere between September 8 and October 7.

This year, it occurs the earliest it has since 1976 (September 8), when it happens on Wednesday September 10.
